Artist’s Statement
I paint because the experience is powerful and intimate, light and fierce—freedom to play with color and paint in an eternal moment. I use transparent and opaque brush strokes and vibrant colors that reflect my relationship to joy and tragedy and express my union with the mystery of landscape. The edge of a riverbank, the jagged edge of trees silhouetted against the sky, the beginning and end of each day—these edges fascinate me. The other edge, the unseen edge of transition, is a landscape that reveals my painting life.
